Start Saving in 2019!

Start Saving Today!

We are a couple of months into the year, but there is still plenty of time to get your savings in check for 2019! Use these tips below to make 2019 the most profitable year yet.

Determine your savings goals.

Although we all should have some savings, why do you want to save? Do you want to have an emergency fund in your account? Are you in the market for a new car? Need to pay off some loans? Establishing why you want to save and keeping those goals in mind will help you stay on track.

Write down all spending for one month.

Write down every single expense that comes out of your account for the month. Whether that is bills, groceries, restaurants or anything else. This will help you really see how much money comes out of your account each month and where you can cut back. You can also utilize free apps to help track your spending like Wally or Penny.

Set up a budget based on your past month’s spending log.

Identify the money you spent on needs and the money you spent on wants. Things like going out to eat, unused subscriptions or memberships, and morning coffees can really add up and often can be unnecessary. See what you can cut out to save a bit more and put that extra money in your savings account. If building a budget sounds intimidating, there are many free templates and apps that can help you.

Watch your savings add up!

After a few weeks of saving with your new budget, you will start to see money adding up in your savings account. Let that savings be your motivator to continue and make budgeting a habit. Your wallet will thank you!
