In September 2022, American 1 Credit Union and TRUE Community Credit Union hosted the final Hit 'em Fore Hospice Golf Benefit. Raising more than half a million dollars for the Henry Ford Hospice Home over 22 years, the two community-oriented credit unions decided to shift gears to support the existing Lights of Love fundraiser, organized and hosted by Henry Ford Jackson Hospital.
Lights of Love is a chance to warm hearts and welcome the holiday season with the Henry Ford Jackson Hospital community. Community members are invited to sponsor "light" in celebration or memory of a loved one, family member, or pet. This year's event will take place on Wednesday, December 7, at 6:00 p.m., at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital.
"Our partnership with TRUE Community Credit Union and Henry Ford Jackson Hospital proves that boldly serving our community comes first," said President/CEO of American 1 Credit Union and Chair of the Henry Ford Health Jackson Board of Trustees Martha Fuerstenau. "We invite you to join us in supporting the Henry Ford Hospice Home through this touching event that welcomes the holiday season in the most beautiful and heartfelt way."
All gifts to Lights of Love support Henry Ford Jackson Hospice, which offers compassionate end-of-life care to all who need it, regardless of their ability to pay for care. Every tax-deductible gift helps provide these vital services to the community so that patients and their families can share moments of peace, love, and connection during a difficult time.
President/CEO of TRUE Community Credit Union and Chair for the Henry Ford Hospice Board Chrissy Siders stated, "We are so excited to continue our partnership with American 1 Credit Union as we transition our fundraising to Lights of Love. We are blessed to have the Henry Ford Jackson Hospice Home in our community to serve families during their loved one's end of life. The funds raised from Lights of Love will benefit families in need and allow them to experience the care that only the hospice home team can provide. We are humbled and honored to be part of this legacy-defining moment for our community."
