Michigan Services Credit Union is now a part of American 1 Credit Union!

In October 2011, Michigan Services Credit Union officially merged with American 1 Credit Union. We would like to welcome Michigan Services members to our credit union and look forward to offering you quality products and superior service.  Below is information on your new membership with American 1.

 **MSCU Debit Cards**
The prior card provider with MSCU made an error and has issued replacement cards for all of the prior cards that expired.  The MSCU Debit card will not work.  Please destroy it and continue to use your new American 1 Debit Card.  We apologize for the confusion and inconvenience.

Checking Account, Checks, Direct Deposit and Automatic Payments
Your MSCU checks will automatically be directed and cleared through your new American 1 checking account temporarily.  This is also true of your direct deposits and automatic payments.  However, these transactions must be converted over to your American 1 account immediately.  As of January 1, 2012, you must have the account switched over to avoid the inconvenience of a check or ACH transaction not clearing properly.

Your routing number is now 272481567.  You can not use your base account number for ACH direct deposits/withdrawals. If you would  like direct deposit or direct withdrawal, there is a specific format you must follow, as it always is for ACH transactions to post correctly according to Federal regulations.  Please contact our Southfield branch at (248)440.6790 for the proper savings and checking format.

And more great news, when you officially switch your checking account over to American 1, you will receive your first box of checks for free!

Visa Conversion Information

Your November Visa statement will show your converted balances! Your statement will show only one rate. But in our system, your balance is divided appropriately into the rate buckets where it belongs. However, the statement formatting couldn't be completed by month end. Please contact any branch to obtain the separation of balances.

Debit Card Information
All members of MSCU that had an ATM or Debit Card now should have an American 1 Debit Card.  You can activate your new American 1 Debit Card by using any ATM or by using your debit card at any local retailer as a PIN transaction.  Notice - if you had an ATM card previously set up to your savings and had no checking account, you now have an American 1 Debit Card set up to your savings.  See our checking page on this website for more information.

More great news for our new members from MSCU!  American 1 will be refunding your foreign ATM fees for a limited time.  That's right.  When you make a transaction at an ATM and it charges you a fee, American 1 will put that fee amount back in to your account.  Just another welcome gift to our newest members!

New Account Numbers
Your new account number will start with a 2 and has 8 digits total. It ends with your regular Michigan Services Credit Union account number including the final zero. If there are numbers needed between 2 and the base account number, we fill in with zeros.

Previous MSCU account #: 123450
New account #: 20123450

Previous MSCU Account #: 1234560
New account #: 21234560

NOTE: The numbers above are examples only and are not current American 1 or MSCU Account numbers.
Grand Trunk/CN members with account numbers starting with 24 will have no changes to the account numbers.

Conducting Transactions
Starting Monday, October 17, you will be able to do your banking at any of American 1's 12 branch locations - see complete list below.  Loan payments can be dropped off to the Southfield branch location; however, if you are planning to mail a payment, please mail it to the American 1's Home Office at the address below.  Please make checks payable to American 1 Credit Union or A1CU.

 Home Banking
Michigan Services Credit Union's home banking system is no longer be available. You are now eligible for American 1's a1@home.  A1@home is free for our members and offers bill pay at no cost when you sign up for e-statements.   If you would like to be set up for home banking, please visit any of American 1's branch locations or email: a1responsteam@a1cu.org.

 Certificates of Deposit
All Certificates of Deposits (CDs) currently with MSCU will not renew at maturity.  You will be contacted by an American 1 representative to discuss the excellent options available.

All dividends and interest will be appropriately accrued or paid at the end of business on October 14, 2011.  All members will receive this information in a final paper statement in the name MSCU after October 14, 2011.  On Saturday, October 15, you will begin to earn on your American 1 account.

We are proud to offer our low financing rates on new, used or refinanced vehicles. While you are talking with an American 1 representative, ask them how you can take advantage of this spectacular offer.
